Are You Invited to the Royal Wedding?

According to an article published on SkyNewsHD, Chris Jackson gives you some interesting and some common sense tips on how to get the best photos at the Royal Wedding. His practical tips start out with getting there early (camping out), taking food and water to keep you going while you wait, and taking an extra set of clothing (and some waterproof gear in case it rains). All this is assuming that you aren’t actually invited to the wedding and reception.

Chris Jackson’s tips for getting the best Royal Wedding photos:

• Try using a wide angle lens for when the Royal Carriage comes by
• Don’t just focus on the Royal Couple. Do some candid shots of the crowd and all the interesting people attending.
• Take a longer lens to get the shots of the newly married couple as they pass in the carriage. If you want to capture a photo of the couple’s first kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace you will need at least a 200mm lens.
• Make sure you have enough memory on your cards. Chris recommends a minimum of 2 GB, but memory is cheaper than regret, so get a bigger card!
• Try using a slower shutter speed for some panning action.
• Look at the detail on the carriage and in the crowd to capture the historical event.
• Set your camera to high speed (photographs per second) as the carriage goes past.
• Take tons of photos. It’s digital and you can always delete the ones you don’t like.
