iPhone Sales Could Be Halted

iPhone sales could break 4 million by the end of this weekend. Globally, the iPhone 4S went on sale today. According to Bloomberg, “Apple Inc. (AAPL) is poised to sell as many as 4 million units of its new iPhone 4S this weekend after customers around the world lined up to buy one of the last products developed under Steve Jobs. Apple’s stock rose 3.3 percent to $422 in today’s trading, capping a gain of 14 percent this week. The company is the world’s most valuable business, with a market capitalization of $391.2 billion. That compares with $379.8 billion for the second-ranking Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM).”

With record breaking iPhone sales, there is a catch. There was so much traffic, the server had a glitch. Fox Business News reported, “Softbank Corp. (9984.TO) chief executive Masayoshi Son said that sales had resumed after a server glitch briefly halted services on the morning it launched sales of Apple Inc.'s (APPL) iPhone 4S in Japan. About 15 minutes earlier, at 0200 GMT, Softbank suspended all sales of Smartphones due to technical difficulties with servers that left the system unable to process registration information.” The question is, how much time will you have to wait if the iPhone 4S is totally sold out? How long will you have to wait for them to manufacture more?

Why are iPhone 4S sales so amazing? According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “The release represents the end of Apple's era under Jobs, who died this month after an eight-year battle with cancer. The iPhone 4S has received mostly positive reviews for its voice- recognition software, speedier processor and improved camera. The device also provides Apple with fresh ammunition in its fight against Google Inc.'s Android software, which will appear on a host of new Smartphones in the year-end holiday season.”

"It's going to easily outpace any previous launch," said Charlie Wolf, an analyst at Needham & Co. in New York. It helps that the iPhone is available on the three largest U.S. carriers for the first time, which will bring in new buyers, he said.

The good news is that with the craziness of the iPhone 4S sales, the price of the iPhone 4 has dropped to just $99. If you aren’t ready to shell out a lot of money for the iPhone 4S, (selling for $199, $299 or $399, depending on features), you may consider the iPhone 4. It’s a great way to get into an iPhone without having to pay all that extra money. And there are a lot of the accessories for the iPhone 4 as well as the iPhone 4S. For example you can get a great iPhone 4 Power Charging Case that has a built in battery to recharge your phone when your iPhone is low on battery juice. Check it out.
